Your Right to Peace

Why is it so confusing, why can't life be simpler than it is? One decision to make and I have no clue which way to go. Everyone has an opinion on what I should do, but I am really interested in hearing my own voice. Why have I decided to become mute at such a critical decision in my life? Then it dawned on me, that not deciding is a decision.  One that has caused more distress than I could have imagined. I finally took time to examine the situation with honesty and realized that I allowed fear to victimize me. I knew from the beginning which way to go, the way that would allow me to express who I was fully. The way that will allow me to have all that I desired. It is then that I see how simple life is. Is it my flair for drama that brings a level of complexity to every decision I must make, or my fear that others may not like the decisions that I have to make?

Each and every time I make a decision that says "Yes" to me, I am at peace. Decisions that embrace my characteristics, uphold my value system, and give way to what I truly want in life; I find peace. When I make a commitment to follow this rule for every decision that I make, then I maintain peace. It doesn't get any simpler than that; this is my recipe for peace. Although at times, I may ignore it, I often ask myself this clarifying question to help dissipate the cloud of confusion that I have recently created for myself: Which decision is based on fear, and which decision is based on self-love? Once I answer this question honestly, it is clear which way I must move.

For me, peace begins within, starting with peace of mind. Since my mind consults my soul for every decision, when my mind is at peace, so is my soul. When my mind is stressed, I automatically utilize my body to hold the stress. Cardio exercises, breathing exercises, and massages are temporary fixes to relieving my body's tension. If my mind is still racing about "what to do", then my body will soon be filled with stress once again. So the permanent stress reliever for my body is peace of mind.

Personally, there is no better feeling than being at peace for I am experiencing life with lightness and true joy. I am fully accepting who I am and what I want by the decisions I make and actions that I take. It is a great feeling. When I am at peace, I am able to clearly see all the possibilities that life has to offer. I begin to really see the beauty of this amazing thing called "life". When I am at peace, I am dancing and every move seems to be a work of art. Peace for me is not a place you reach and become complacent, but a state of being, where movement is light, free, and poetic.

What about you, how does peace feel to you? Where does peace begin for you? How do you find and maintain your peace? Are you at peace right now? If not, why not? What decisions are looming in the background of your life? What is your guide, fear or self-love?

I believe that every human being has a right to be at peace in their life. Are you exercising your right to peace? If not, why don't you join me and exercise your right today.

Take care and remember to live life with passion, purpose, power, and peace,

Chinwe
